Mail-Order-Trees cannot be held responsible for delayed deliveries due to factors beyond our control such as Public Holidays or adverse weather conditions which make it impossible to lift bare-rooted trees. In cases such as these, you will be notified.
We can only deliver to physical addresses and not to PO boxes. A complete address including correct postcode must be provided. Incorrect postcodes cause more delays than omitting the postcode altogether.
Mail-Order-Trees cannot be held responsible for orders not received if an incorrect address is provided. It will also be necessary to give us details of where to place items should you be out when the delivery arrives. Mail-Order-Trees cannot be responsible for items lost if we have followed your instructions. A contact telephone number can also be very useful to our courier.
Katsura Tree, scientifically known as Cercidiphyllum japonicum, is an ornamental deciduous tree that offers seasonal beauty and a wonderful fragrance to boot.
Originating from Japan and China, it is prized for its heart-shaped foliage and captivating autumn colours, making it an excellent choice for adding interest and elegance to gardens and landscapes.
In spring, small reddish flowers emerge before the bronze-tinted young leaves show. Throughout summer, the rounded, heart-shaped leaves turn a fresh green, providing a light, airy canopy. As the seasons change, Katsura Tree steals the show in autumn, with its foliage turning shades of gold, orange, pink, and deep red.
One of the most unique features of Cercidiphyllum japonicum is the sweet scent that the fallen leaves emit in autumn, making it a truly sensory experience in the garden.
This graceful tree thrives in moist, well-drained, fertile soil and prefers a sunny or partially shaded position. Although it is fully hardy, it benefits from protection from strong winds, which can damage its delicate leaves.
Over 20 years, it can grow to 8-10 metres in height, forming a broad, elegant canopy that provides light shade without being too dense.
Katsura Tree is perfect as a feature tree, in woodland gardens, or near patios where its autumn fragrance can be truly appreciated. Its low-maintenance nature and breathtaking seasonal displays make it an excellent choice for gardeners looking for something truly special.
