Cotoneaster is one of those versatile plants that quietly fills the garden with beauty and seasonal interest, all while providing wonderful structure. With its dense foliage and spreading form, Cotoneaster makes an excellent ground cover or low hedge, and some varieties can even be trained up walls or used in rock gardens. In spring, the plant is covered in clusters of small, delicate white or pink flowers, which are charming in their simplicity. But it’s in autumn that Cotoneaster truly shines, as these flowers give way to bright red or orange berries that bring a splash of colour to the garden just as the leaves begin to fall.
