Our usual delivery time is up to 7-10 working days. We will, as ever, aim to stick to our usual timescale but please be aware that this may not always be possible. Every effort will be made to make deliveries in this time or on a date requested by you.
Mail-Order-Trees cannot be held responsible for delayed deliveries due to factors beyond our control such as Public Holidays or adverse weather conditions which make it impossible to lift bare-rooted trees. In cases such as these, you will be notified.
We can only deliver to physical addresses and not to PO boxes. A complete address including correct postcode must be provided. Incorrect postcodes cause more delays than omitting the postcode altogether.
Mail-Order-Trees cannot be held responsible for orders not received if an incorrect address is provided. It will also be necessary to give us details of where to place items should you be out when the delivery arrives. Mail-Order-Trees cannot be responsible for items lost if we have followed your instructions. A contact telephone number can also be very useful to our courier.
Bergenia cordifolia - A Robust and Decorative Perennial
Bergenia cordifolia, commonly known as Elephant's Ears, is a robust perennial that adds a decorative touch to gardens with its large, glossy leaves and vibrant flowers. Ideal for ground cover, borders, and shade gardens, this plant thrives in a variety of garden settings, offering year-round interest with its evergreen foliage and striking spring blooms.
The standout feature of Bergenia cordifolia is its broad, leathery leaves. These large, heart-shaped leaves form dense clumps, providing excellent ground cover and a lush, green backdrop throughout the year. In spring, clusters of bell-shaped flowers in shades of pink to magenta rise above the foliage, creating a striking contrast and adding a splash of colour to the garden. The flowers are not only beautiful but also attract pollinators, contributing to a healthy garden ecosystem.
Caring for Bergenia cordifolia is simple, making it a great choice for gardeners of all experience levels. Plant Bergenia cordifolia in well-drained soil, as it can tolerate a range of soil types. This versatile plant can thrive in full sun to partial shade, though it prefers some shade in hotter climates to prevent leaf scorch. Water regularly to keep the soil moderately moist, especially during dry periods. To maintain its appearance, remove any dead or damaged leaves and spent flower stalks. In late autumn, a light mulch can help protect the plant through winter. With its low maintenance needs and decorative foliage, Bergenia cordifolia is an excellent addition to any garden, providing year-round beauty and effective ground cover.
