The ‘Koreana’ is a highly valued conifer which is favoured for its unique cones that it produces in autumn. The cylindrical cones are purple-blue in colour and can appear on specimens that are as young as 3-4 years old. The needle-like leaves are bright green when young, and mature to a darker green colour over time; they have glistening silvery-white undersides and seen as the ‘Koreana’ is evergreen they will add interest to your garden all year round. This conifer is slow-growing and will eventually form a conical shaped tree that is densely packed with whorled branches. The ‘Koreana’ is well-suited to being planted in a large shrubbery, and works particularly well when planted alongside a glacous coloured conifer like the Chamaecyparis ‘Blue Nantais’.
