Mail-Order-Trees cannot be responsible for items lost if we have followed your instructions. A contact telephone number can also be very useful to our courier.
Hornbeam tree, also known as Carpinus Betulus, is a versatile and attractive native tree that brings year-round interest to any garden. Similar in appearance to beech, hornbeam makes a superb specimen tree.
This hardy tree is well-known for its dense, serrated, oval-shaped leaves which first emerge in spring as a bright, fresh green.
As the seasons roll forward, Hornbeam Tree’s foliage matures into a rich, dark green before turning a stunning golden-yellow in autumn, adding a healthy dose of seasonal sparkle to your outdoor space.
One of the Hornbeam Tree’s greatest attributes is its versatility. Its dense foliage and ability to withstand hard pruning make it an ideal choice for hedging and screening, providing privacy and windbreaks.
In addition to the structural versatility, Carpinus Betulus produces lovely green catkins in late spring, followed by distinctive clusters of winged seeds in the autumn.
Grown as a tree, it has a pyramidal shape that later becomes more rounded.
Although it is deciduous, it retains its coppery dead leaves throughout the winter so it remains an effective screen.
Hornbeam Tree is fully hardy and thrives in a variety of soil types, though it prefers moist, well-drained soils with a slightly acidic to neutral pH.
Carpinus Betulus is tolerant of both full sun and partial shade, making it suitable basically any garden. Over 20 years, Hornbeam Tree will grow to around 6 metres in height with a spread of about 5 metres. This makes Carpinus Betulus a perfect addition to gardens, along with parks or wooded areas.
Whether planted as a stunning standalone piece or used in hedging for its dense, well-behaved growth habit, Carpinus betulus is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to add structure, privacy, and interest to their garden.
