Malus 'Prairie Fire' is an excellent new variety of crab apple and is ideal for small gardens. It has an upright growth habit with narrow, dark purple to green leaves. An intense dispaly of single red/purple flowers appear in April are followed in autumn by small, spheroid, purple fruits. Good disease resistance.
