The 'Dark Knight' is a delightful garden shrub which is known for its late summer flowers, which last until early autumn. The flowers are a bright blue colour and they are extremely popular with the butterflies and bees. The foliage of the bluebeard is also of great interest as the leaves are slender, deep green and finely serrated. This shrub looks great when planted alongside the variegated form of caryopteris – the 'Hint of Gold'.
