If you enjoy plums but want to try something a little different, Gages are certainly the tree for you. The fruits are similar to a plum in shape but are far juicier than any plum variety. They are fantastic straight from the tree, but are equally as delicious when utilised in cooking or preserving.
Gages enjoy a sunny position in the garden and also benefit from protection from frosts and cold winds in colder parts of the UK. These delightful fruit trees only grow to be around 12ft and they can even be kept in a large container. Gages will grow successfully in most soil types and situations.
